Kaity’s Way is the first organization in Arizona to focus on bringing awareness to teen dating violence and providing education on healthy relationships.
Kaitlyn (Kaity) Marie Sudberry, was 17-years old when she was murdered by an ex-boyfriend as she walked home from school. To honor Kaity and to work to create a world where other families wouldn’t suffer the same loss, her family formed Kaity’s Way.
Kaity came from a blended family. She was one of five children for Ric and Bobbi Sudberry. A close-knit bunch that had their lives turned upside down on January 28, 2008.
Ric and Bobbi found themselves on a journey they didn’t ask for, but knew they had to help other young people and the adults in their lives learn about the importance of healthy relationships.
Since being founded in 2008, Kaity’s Way has reached more than 91,000 people and continues to grow.
Our inclusive method addresses unhealthy relationships vs. healthy relationships and empowers everyone to be a solution to the problem. The goal is to provide the social, emotional support needed to break the cycle of violence using the elements of a healthy relationship based on the nonprofit’s P.E.A.C.E.
