What is a violent relationship?
Lets start by defining what a relationship is. Most people think of a relationship as people that are:
- Related – sister, brother, cousin
- Married people
- People dating
This is true but there are many more types of relationships. For example:
Business, Co-worker, Customer, and simple Acquaintance relationships to name a few more. All in all a relationship is basically an association between 2 or more people.
Now lets define violent/violence: any act – physical, verbal or emotional – that is intended to, or results in, harm to oneself or another person or group.
ACCORDING TO KAITY’S WAY -- A VIOLENT RELATIONSHIP IS A RELATIONSHIP WHERE AT LEAST ONE OF THE INDIVIDUALS WITHIN A RELATIONSHIP CHOOSES TO EMOTIONALLY, VERBALLY OR PHYSICALLY CAUSE HARM TO THE OTHER INDIVIDUAL IN THAT RELATIONSHIP.
IT IS JUST THAT SIMPLE!
